ENERGY OF THE WEEK – Chodesh Sivan

June 7th, 2009

Bs"d

Look at this amazing piece from the B’nei Yissaschsar which describes the unique energy that’s present throughout the entire Chodesh Sivan:

"On this day [Rosh Chodesh Sivan], begins the domination of the constellation of T’omim [twins]; therefore specifically on this day they [the Jewish people] became a holy nation through the unity with their Creator k’v'yachol – like twins[1. Ma'amarei Chodesh Sivan ma'amar alef, ois gimel.]."

In this month we build a unique unity with Hashem. It’s not like in Chodesh Nisan when we were in the infancy stage and Hashem "jumped forward" to save us[2. See Energy of the Week – Rosh Chodesh Nisan, posted on March 22/09.]. Now after Sfiras Haomer and Kabolas HaTorah we have matured spiritually, and we now become "related" to Hashem – so to speak[3. See "What is the Meaning of K'v'yachol", posted May 19/09.] – just like two twins are related to each other.

The way to understand this is on the neshama level. Each one of us includes G-dliness within him. The Ba’al HaTanya zy"a describes this as a "Chelek Eloka mima’al mamesh" – an actual "part" of Hashem – so to speak – resides within each of our beings[4. Perek Beis.]. It is the special G-dly soul within us. In this respect, each of us represents a "twin image" of Hashem’s presence in this world.
